Canon Lens
Should i choose the much cheaper Sigma Lenses or the original Canon Lens?
Some say It's okey to buy Sigma brand while others advices original Canon Lens... Anyone who has experienced both sigma and the original, I need your feedback... Thanks
Think about it this way -
Your lens is the gateway of the light to the camera sensor. The sensor will capture whatever is projected onto it by a lens, in the best way it can. Great sensors will do better job than poor ones in most cases... BUT
BUT no sensor in the world will capture an image that is better, sharper, clearer or with less distortions/abberations than that projected by your lens.
So - here you have a great Canon camera body, and if you slap a cheap piece of low-quality Sigma glass in front of it, you immediately reduce the quality of WHOLE camera to that of the flimsy lens. There is a reason why genuine Canon glass costs that much more than Sigma. Yes, some of it the cost of brand name, but not just that. It is also in big part to cover the cost of precise engineering, research and quality manufacture process that went into the original glass.
Also think of it this way - the technology advances fast. Newer and better sensors are introduced every few years, more camera features become available and affordable. So in a few years (maybe 2, maybe 3, maybe 5) you will want a new camera body. But your lenses will most likely stay in your kit through several bodies before you get rid of them, provided you cared of them properly. So your glass is a really long-term investment, not just saving a few bucks at the spur of a moment.
