Is it the right size? Do I need an adapter ring of some sort? I am a beginner in this whole affair so that would be good if you could explain the fish-eye lenses and all. Thank you!
It is not the answer so quickly. I think not. Look at the lens of the Xacti camcorder. Is there a screw inside the ring of the target? What you need to add an external lens or filter. I can find no reference to fish-eye or telephoto adapters this camcorder, or reference to a filter size, so I'll say it's not compatible with Foreign lenses / filters. A wide angle lens makes things appear farther away than they really are, so you can see the bigger picture. A fish-eye lens is an extreme version of a wide-angle lens that has the width of most people in the photo / video, but tends to distort the center of the image that is larger than banks (the "fisheye" effect).
