Digital versus optical zoom in camcorders: How do they work together?
I understand that a good optical zoom (when used) provides a clear picture while a high digital zoom (when used) provides a clear image. What I do know is that these features 2 different dependantly or working independently of each other? Are there camcorders that come with digital zoom optical zoom high and low, at the same time? Or is having a good optical zoom inevitably to the camera with a high digital zoom? And, if this is so sad but true, the digital zoom be deactivated during shooting, leaving active only the optical zoom, so the optical zoom is done instead of digitally, for the sake of capturing a clear and defined picture, instead of a diffuse, pixelated image? Just way so only for purposes of knowledge, the optical zoom is disabled, leaving active only the digital zoom?
Typically, the optical zoom 1 will be until it reaches the upper limit, then the digital zoom takes over at this time. Therefore, the digital zoom is more of a complement optical zoom.
